The Artela community has hit a major milestone: Over the past month, we've seen 120k active users contributing to Artela every week! Thanks to our Renaissance Campaign over the last quarter, our community has experienced rapid growth, now boasting a massive 250k members.

But what’s even more exciting than the community’s growth is the “chemistry” happening as it evolves! This has led to the birth of a unique symbol for Artela: ++! A symbol that represents both Artela’s vision and the consensus within our community!

If you’re reading this and don’t quite understand what “++” means, it probably means you haven’t fully immersed yourself in the Artela community yet. In this blog post, we’re going to explain everything that’s been happening within the Artela community, what “++” is, how it came to be, and how it’s become the most iconic inside joke among our members. 0) The Beginning: From EVM to EVM++

Artela’s technical vision is to break through the limitations of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and enhance blockchain extensibility. Our core technology, EVM++, boosts performance by supporting parallel EVM (the 1st "+") and enhances functionality by enabling WASM extensions (the 2nd "+").

The community's prior consensus is:

“EVM++ is a game-changer. EVM++ is the biggest high-probability opportunity!”

This is where “++” originated, and as more people joined the community to understand and spread the word about EVM++, something unexpected—and fun—started to happen.

1) Pandora’s Box: GM++

Like other crypto communities, the Artela community uses “gm” as a greeting.

Then one day, someone said "gm++"! Everyone instantly found it fxxking hilarious, and within 0.0001 seconds of encountering "GM++", people couldn't help but smile.

Why? Because at Artela, our core consensus is 「EVM++」, and "GM++" is a meme born from 「EVM++」! Everyone in the Artela community gets it.

This super meme swept through the community, and from that point on, Pandora’s Box had been opened!

2) The Wave: Anything++

Someday, the community realized an even more powerful meme than「GM++」— simply a 「++」.

「++」 has a certain magic. Anything unique to Artela that gets tagged with 「++」 immediately becomes more interesting. It makes sense on a semantic level and is also deeply rooted in Artela’s meme culture.

It can signify an "upgrade" — EVM becomes EVM++. It can signify "stronger" — AI++ shows that Artela’s AI capabilities can outperform other chains. And it can signify "Artela meme" — any crypto slang that enters the Artela community can be "++-ed" and thus “Artela-fied,” like GM++.

Right now, there’s a unique trend sweeping the Artela community: anything++.

Artela NFT Capila’s slogan is “Don’t worry, be happy,” and now we say 「hayppy++」.

When there’s a new partnership announcement, the community excitedly responds with “partner++.” When a milestone is reached, you’ll see “milestone++” everywhere.

3) An Insider 's Joke: Community Slang

If “++” is the community’s core consensus, then slang is the favorite of Artela insiders.

The experienced insiders of Artela community often drop phrases like “1000 cheers.”

You might not get it right away, but you know there’s an inside joke behind it. If you learn it, congratulations—you’re officially hooked on Artela!

Let’s break down how “1000 cheers” became a beloved community slang!

“3 cheers for you” is an English phrase that means a hearty congratulations. One of Artela’s engineers has a habit of shouting out, “xxx cheers!” every time her code runs successfully. The number changes each time—567 cheers! 999 cheers!

This fun habit “leaked” into the community and was quickly embraced! Now, “1000 cheers” is used all the time to celebrate official milestones or good news from community members.
