Let’s build ++! With the Artela mainnet launch on the horizon, network features are being gradually rolled out. Today, we’re diving into the Artela Governance and Staking functionalities.
Artela Governance offers two key features:
Staking: Check the status of Validators and stake your $ART tokens to earn rewards.
Voting: Participate in community governance by reviewing and voting on various proposals that will shape the network’s future.
Voting:
Artela adopts a staking-based voting model, where participants earn voting power by staking their $ART tokens. Each ART token represents one vote, and users can cast votes on different proposals to influence system upgrades and key decisions. The more $ART tokens you stake, the greater your voting weight. Future blogs will further explain the governance operations and implementation.
Proposal topics include but are not limited to:
The network's inflation rate
Application of slashing parameters
Distribution of rewards
Quorum levels required for decisions
The duration of the unbonding period
During the testnet phase, you can visit the Governance page to review active proposals and cast your votes. The “voting” section shows current proposals, while the “passed” section displays approved historical proposals, and the “rejected” section shows those that were not passed.
Staking:
Artela’s network consists of multiple Validators, and you can view the number of active Validators and related network parameters on the Status page. In the current testnet, the maximum number of Validators is set at 30. On the Staking page, you’ll find a list of active Validators, and ART token holders can delegate their tokens to these Validators to earn network rewards.
In the My Balance section, you can check your ART balance, the amount you’ve staked, and the rewards you’ve accumulated. The Undelegate section displays the ART tokens currently in the unbonding process.
In the My Wallet section, you can view:
Your current ART balance
Total staked amount
Accumulated rewards
Tokens in the Undelegates
Current inflation rate
You can also check your staking history with Validators and choose to Delegate or Redelegate to other Validators. Rewards will accumulate with each block, and you can claim them as they become available.
